Dr Sophy Moloko is a nurse by profession with a di Dr Sophy Moloko is a nurse by profession with a diploma in nursing, honours degree in nursing education and administration, MPH and PhD in Public Health. She is a lecturer at the Nursing Department and a scientific advisor for SAVIC. Dr Moloko 
has 18 years of experience in primary health care (PHC) nursing, with eight years spent in the coordination and training of PHC nurses; and seven 
years in academia. 

In PHC, her training focused on the health promotion, prevention and management 
of childhood illnesses, including immunisations and integrated management of childhood illnesses
(IMCI). As a lecturer at SMU, her teaching and learning focus is on research, ethos and professional practice and community nursing science, including preventing and managing vaccine-preventable
disease, IMCI and maternal health.

Dr Zeenat Ismail is a pharmacologist by profession Dr Zeenat Ismail is a pharmacologist by profession with a BHSc Honours and PhD. She is a lecturer and post-doctoral fellow in the Department of Public Health Pharmacy and Management (PHPM), School of Pharmacy, and a Scientific Advisor for vaccine-related research for the South African Vaccination and Immunisation Centre (SAVIC). Dr Ismail has 10 years’ of experience in academia and research. She has a keen mind and understanding of scientific research principles and has extensive experience in experimental pharmacology research.
 
She has a transferable skill set that serves well within other verticals such as clinical research and Public Health Pharmacy. As a health professional, she is passionate about improving the lives and health outcomes of disadvantaged and vulnerable populations and is thus focused in making a meaningful contribution to the already burdened health system. #SAVIC women #Women’s month #Women in leadership
Nontobeko Shabangu is a dynamic Public Health Prof Nontobeko Shabangu is a dynamic Public Health Professional currently rooted in vaccinology. She has acquired experience serving both students and leading professionals in the field of vaccinology and looks forward to extending her expertise to promoting better health access for all individuals. Currently, she's pursuing her Master's degree in Public Health at SMU.

In addition to her academic and Deputy Programme Management duties, Ms Shabangu was actively involved in supporting the National Immunisation Safety Expert Committee (NISEC), a non-statutory, standing, ministerial-appointed, advisory committee of independent experts from March 2021 to January 2023. Ms Shabangu has been recently nominated to serve on the technical working group for new vaccine introductions- specifically for the demand, creation and social mobilisation. She is currently also a member of the Social Listening & Infodemiology team, which is part of the Risk Communications & Community Engagement Working Group of the National Department of Health.

Ms Varsetile Nkwinika is a medical virologist and Ms Varsetile Nkwinika is a medical virologist and academic with a passion for advancing public health through research, education, and program management. Currently, she holds a position as a New Generation of Academics Program (nGAP)lecturer in the Department of Virology at the School of Medicine, Sefako Makgatho Health Sciences University (SMU). She has an impressive academic background, having graduated with a master’s degree in medical virology which she obtained cum laude. In addition, Varsetile is a trained vaccinologist and is currently pursuing a PhD in medicine.

Varsetile specialises in the epidemiology of human papillomavirus (HPV) infections, HPV-related cancers and HPV lab-based surveillance and has made significant contributions to the field through her research work. #Women in leadership #Women's month #SAVIC women
